Doo-Wop Twang: The space of blues, the teeth of country and the grit of rock n roll. Born and raised in rural British Columbia on a balanced diet of borscht and Bob Dylan, Melissa Ruth's music lies somewhere along that stretch of sonic highway where Americana and blues converge into one long road. Known as much for the space between the notes as the notes themselves, Melissa and long-time collaborator Johnny Leal create music that is as sparse as it is interconnected, reflecting the natural world in which they both grew up. Melissa's 4th studio album, Bones, is set for release March 2023.

When not performing, Ruth teaches music in Western Oregon. She is currently pursuing a master in music education with an emphasis on music education in rural schools.
