No Kind of Rider is an American five-piece indie rock band based in Portland, OR. Their debut album ‘Savage Coast’ blends indie rock, r&b, electronica, and shoegaze influences. The close-knit group met while teenagers in Tulsa, OK and write songs in conflict – both chaotic and intricately calculated. 'Savage Coast' finds those boys now older and wiser – four of the five band members lost their fathers during the album's completion and while the gravity of loss is fully explored as a theme, 'Savage Coast' isn’t content to remain in despair. In the album’s ending track, “Autumn”, seeds of new hope take root as Samuel Alexander (lead vocals/guitar) sings with resolve, “We all have to die, to be reborn.”
Based in Tacoma, WA, Burn Band was conceived through shared musical joy and chemistry, and forged in the fires of friendship and teamwork. Jon Robinson (bass) and Colin Carter (drums), had been jamming for years, looking for a guitar player that fit just right. Thanks to Funk Jam at the Airport Tavern, Jesse Turcotte (guitar) and Jon were put onstage together before they'd ever met, in a jam where similar thinking and tastes made it obvious to them that there was magic to be conjured here. One jam with the trio was all it took. Burn Band began rooted around a few originals and a collective love for modern and vintage funk music. Now, it's a tastefully curated parade, punctuated by the some of the most funky and grooving moments in music history. The Burn Band will be IN EFFECT soon, in a town near you!
