About Bitter Harvest

Bitter Harvest

Bitter Harvest is an epic film, which the Huffington Post has called "an important movie that everyone should see." It is an unforgettable love story played out against the backdrop of one of the best kept secrets in the world -- the horrific Holodomor -- an artificially engineered famine created by Joseph Stalin and perpetrated against the Ukrainian people where 7 million lives perished.

It is especially relevant today, with the political situation with Russia, especially invading and annexing Crimea and eastern Ukraine.

The film has premiered in Washington DC, NYC, London, Kiev, Ottawa and Toronto, as well as privately at the prestigious Cambridge Students Union at Kings College and at the Aspen Institute.

It is produced, co-written and directed by local film maker George Mendeluk who will hold a private screening at Mcmenamins on June 8at 8 p.m.
