McMenamins Handcrafted Shrubs

Our shrubs, or drinking vinegars, are crafted in the Grand Lodge Fermentation Chamber starting with the centuries-old Orleans method of vinegar making, using Edgefield wines and ales. Fresh fruits, herbs and simple syrup are added to create unique flavors, making these shrubs delicious in cocktails, mocktails, vinaigrettes and gastrique.

Shrubs are available seasonally by the bottle at our bottle shops and hotel gift shops.
 
ALL BLUES BERRY SHRUBALL BLUES BERRY SHRUB Bottle
Fresh local and Grand Lodge blueberries are the essence of this delightful shrub. Infused with lavender to complement the berries, it pairs as well with lemonade or limeade as with cocktails. Mix it with elderflower liqueur, vodka and soda, or add a splash to a lavender lemon drop.

North American natives aronia berry and rose make a delightful pairing in our house made shrub that conjures images of woodland nymphs and garden fairies. Create a refreshing Aronia-Rose Spritz with Edgefield Blanc de Noir Sparkling Wine.

If you combined spring and fall in a glass, this would be it – the sweet-tartness of B Street Crab Apple Shrub brings to mind spring’s crab apple blossoms and crisp, ripe autumn fruit. Blended with warm spices and raw apple cider vinegar, the result adds a bright note to cocktails. Add a splash to McMenamins Billy Whiskey for an autumn old fashioned.

A cool ade for the cool kids. Originally concocted for Cosmic Tripsters, this sweet-tart fermented brew gained such a following that our fermentista started brewing in for everyone! Tropical fruits join coconut water to create a delicious tie-dye bright addition to your morning smoothie or evening cocktail.
