The initial brewers crafted first McMenamins unfiltered Wheat Ales and the first Fruit Ales (starting with blackberries scavenged from the vines off the parking lot). The Hillsdale is also notable for staging in 1985 the "Northwest Micro-Fest" -- which as far as we know was the first microbrew festival staged in Oregon, a giant bash held both inside but mostly out in the parking lot. Today, the Hillsdale Brewfest, held every February, is considered the Grand Daddy of all McMenamins brewfests. Another first at the Hillsdale came in the form of Alex Farnum, who was the first in a line of female brewers to work for McMenamins, and may well have been the first female micro-brewer in Oregon. Currently guiding the paddle is Jenni Augello, winner of the coveted Brewfest Belt her first time around! 33rd State IPA 5th Floor IPA Alright, Alright, Alright Double IPA Alter Limits Bag End Bitter Bagheera Stout Black Widow Porter Crystal's Hazy IPA Dark & Stormy Ale Devil's Brew Imperial Stout Devil's Reserve Imperial Stout Double 20's Double IPA El Salvador Coffee Cream Ale Florence NightingALE Good Fortune IPA Grand Day Out IPA Hammerhead Hammerhead Dry-Hopped Hazy Boots Hella IPA Hillsdale Ale 30th Anniversary Hip To Be Hazy IPA I Choo- Choo- Choose You Milk Chocolate Cherry Stout I Know You Rider Red Ale Inaugural Pale Jam Session IPA Kenny Blood Orange Pale Khaleesi Double IPA Kris Kringle Lola's Hazy IPA Lono Golden Ale Luau Lei Jasmine Ale Mah-na Mah-na Hazy IPA Mannschaft Kölsch McMenamins Irish Stout Nights in White Satin Stout Ostara IPA Palo Santo Mango Pale Papantla Stout Puffer Pale Ale Purple Haze Red Riser IRA Resilience Butte County Proud IPA Ridiculous Hoptimism DIPA Rosé City Brut IPA Ruby Ale Sabertooth Haze Skellington Porter Sleepy Hollow Nut Brown Stay Gold Kölsch Stealie IPA Sunflower IPA Sunset Blvd. Wheat Susan B.
