Games at McMenamins

Whether you seek out a games bar like Doc’s at Elks Temple or stop by a neighborhood pub for pool and a bite, we’re ready with fun and games: pool, pinball, darts and shuffleboard.

Pinball was banned from the early 1940s to the mid-1970s in most of the U.S.'s big cities. Considered a form of gambling, this “menace to society” was alleged to encourage thievery among America’s schoolchildren. Shuffleboard, on the other hand, has enjoyed a long and benign history – though there was an 1848 court case that weighed the possibility of chance against skill, with the judge ruling that “the game was altogether a game of skill.” Test yours on these and other games around McMenamins!
