Jim Creek combines country, folk, Americana and a little bit of chili pepper water to create a sound that is authentic, energetic, original, and fun. Lead by song writer and lead singer Christopher Masagatani they tour the NW and are staples of the Portland music scene. They are recording this year for a release in 2015.
Critics and friends have compared him to numerous luminaries
such as Tom Petty, Adams, Wilco, Kings of Leon, Mark Langegan and Weezer. He
has made his living as a DIY independent artist since 2003, touring in the USA
and abroad as Matt Hopper, solo artist, and Matt Hopper & The Roman
Candles, a rock band. As a songwriter, his diverse, original catalog spans
country, blues, rock, psychadelic, jam, and pop/dance.
A wedding performance in a California canyon grove fated these three to become the trio Dear Lemon Trees. Longtime admirers of one another, Kathleen Grace, Jamie Drake and Leslie Stevens have come together "...like honey, lemons, tequila, we're talking delicious" -BuzzBandsLA. The three friends have been important figures in the L.A. music realm for many years and were founders of a local songwriting group before recording "The Briar and The Rose" (Tom Waits) on Grace's critically acclaimed 2014 release No Place To Fall. The group bring their Arizona, Michigan, and Missouri roots to songs that earned them a mention in L.A. Weekly's Best of 2016. Their first E.P. Gravity was released on January 31, 2017.
