About New Old Stock
New Old Stock formed in 2021, but the spark started in a way that still feels surreal. It began with a conversation about a tattoo through a drive-through window - a quick exchange between strangers that somehow turned into something bigger. "By the next day, we were in my parents' living room with all the furniture pushed aside, cables running across the carpet, amps humming, still barely knowing each other. What started as a passing moment turned into hours of making music together - and we haven't really stopped since".
Our first show wasn't in a club or on a big stage - it was on the lawn at a backyard party in Saint Paul, Oregon. It was scrappy, loud, imperfect, and it was exactly where we were meant to begin.
Born and raised in Portland, we grew up shaped by the sound of the Pacific Northwest. We were raised on local radio - KGON blasting classic rock through car speakers and Kink FM drive time with Gustav. That balance of new and old is what defines us.
Our sound lives somewhere between shoegaze haze, indie rock urgency, and the warmth of folk storytelling. If you hear shades of Briston Maroney, Cammp, or MT Joy, you're not wrong - but we filter those influences through our own lives and experiences. Swelling guitars, washed-out textures, steady rhythms, and lyrics that sit with love, loss, longing, and the quiet weight of growing up.
At its core, New Old Stock is built on friendship. We push each other to evolve - not just as musicians, but as people. Every song is a reflection of our lives: the late-night doubts, the small victories, the relationships that shaped us, and the hope that something we create might outlive us.
We take pride in what we make because it's honest. It's a timestamp of who we are right now - Portland kids raised on radio waves, now chasing our own signal.
Timeless feelings of love and loss - wrapped in songs meant to soothe your soul.
