This classic German Kölsch was brought to you by collaboration. Nine different McMenamins Brewers worked as a team to develop this recipe. All German malts, German-style hops and a German Kölsch yeast provide an idea of what a traditional Kölsch might of tasted like in Germany in the early 20th century. Light in alcohol and light in color, this beer doesn't lack in flavor.
A smooth, clean, pale German lager with a moderately strong malty flavor and a light hop character.
We wanted to call this "Kann nicht aufhoeren, und werde nicht aufhoeren" which roughly translates to "can't stop, won't stop." But we figured that may be too hard to say. Although our name is boring, the beer itself is a rich, crisp and nutty take on the Oktoberfest style. Vigorous malty flavor from Munich Malts balances the clean taste of Munich lager yeast. Prost!
When offered fifty pounds of fresh picked Triumph Hops for a brew, your favorite Concordia Brewers say "Yes!" This crisp, fresh-hopped Kölsch is a harvest delight, using hops picked fresh from the farm that morning. Broad strokes of earthy, herbal flavors give way to ripe jucy melon, followed by a subtle malty breadiness on the back end. Prost!
German Festbier featuring a fresh hop addition of Sterling from Crosby Hop Farm.
A rich copper color with a balance of malty and hop flavors.
A Doppelbock emblackened. Perfect for midnight masses, dancing naked in the moonlight, and malevolent altars. Turn up the Sons of Huns, toast the dark, now turn and Kiss the Goat!
A crisp, light beer with clean malt character, a mild, pleasant fruitiness from the fermentation and a wonderful hop bouquet from classic German Kölsch hops.
Subtle herbal spiciness with a slight lemon, citrus finish. Featuring Weyermann Pilsner Malt and Hallertau Mittlefruh Hops.
The Tzigane Pilsner (pronounced si-gahn) is the very first lager to be brewed at Mill Creek, and it was made with traditional German Malts and a wonderful mix of two different types of European Pilsner yeast. The name of this beer is derived from the Hungarian word meaning "gypsy," in honor of the nomadic work schedules that so many of our staff members have. Whether it's summer shifts on the coast, daily deliveries up and down the interstate, or that random trip to our northern-most outpost to brew a batch of beer, we're always moving to keep the machine running.
This style was originally brewed in Vienna and brought to Mexico by Austrian brewers. We use the same Mexican Lager yeast strain to produce the Knockback, which comes in at a very sessionable 4.40%. Slightly malt forward but extremely drinkable, this beer pairs well with almost any food.
Traditional malt forward Märzen, with smooth crisp caramel finish.
This Oregon take on a traditional Märzen is a collaboration between Ordnance and a local Navy Vet and award-winning homebrewer, Chuck Macaluso. We hope you enjoy the delicate complexity of German Malt, Oregon Hops, and traditional process that we feature in this beer.
Starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam....if you set your mind free, baby, maybe you'd understand. Our Vienna Lager was aged on freshly roasted whole bean coffee from Nossa Familia.
Shows off toasty, bready flavors, emphasized by fruity oak soaked in sherry. Classic hopping provides a counterbalance to make this lager crisp and clean, and a perfect fall beer.
This German black lager is full of bittersweet chocolate aroma and flavor backed up with a touch of roast. Smooth and delicious!
Before you Oktoberfest, it's time to Stormtoberfest. Sweet with breadiness, but balanced with two Noble hops, this Märzen-style lager will surely take you back to Munich! Prost!
Schatzie is a German term of endearment. It was also the brewer’s beloved black lab, a true beer-hound! This crisp, light-bodied and malty German Pilsner is a tribute to “Schatzie pup”. Lagered for three months, this light and effervescent beer is a crowd pleaser and perfect for both craft beer fans looking for a lager and those just being introduced to craft beer.
Light golden, strong and incredibly sessionable, looks great, tastes great, people love it.
With the end of summer right around the corner, why not enjoy the last days of summer with a light Kölsch? This beer used German Pilsen Malt with a little bit of Vienna and Flaked Barley in the mash. Nugget Hops were added for bittering with Golding Hops added at the end of boil to give this brew a sweet, fruity and herbal aroma.
An old school Munich-style Oktoberfest: deep orange in color from the Munich malts, light spiciness from Noble German hops, and a clean drinkability from German Lager yeast. Prost!
