Portland singer-songwriter Shawn Brown celebrates the release of his upcoming single, "What a Way to Go," with a full-band hometown blowout show at The White Eagle Saloon on August 20. Out July 24 via Bootney Lee Records, the new song is an anthemic, full-throttle rocker about doomed young love, impossible odds, and the defiant beauty of going down swinging.

Produced by acclaimed musician and producer Grecco Buratto, whose credits include Shakira, Tegan and Sara, Gwen Stefani and Lionel Richie, "What a Way to Go" leans into a sweeping, guitar-driven sound built for sweaty club rooms, late-night drives, and voices raised at full volume. Channeling the emotional urgency of artists like Sam Fender, The Gaslight Anthem, and Counting Crows, the track pairs Brown's unmistakable voice with pounding rhythms, soaring guitars, and a cathartic sing-along chorus.

For this special single release celebration, Brown will be joined by the full Shawn Brown Band lineup, featuring Ben Landsverk, Jeff Langston, Ned Failing, and Ag Donnaloia. A powerhouse live band built for big choruses, locked-in grooves, and sweat-soaked rock and roll release, they turn Brown's songs into explosive, full-throttle performances that hit with heart, grit, and undeniable force.

After returning to music in 2021 following nearly a decade away, Brown has built a body of work rooted in emotional honesty, genre-blurring instincts, and fearless songwriting.
