Dain Norman & The Chrysalis Effect is a classic influenced rock n' roll band, with years of live performing experience under their belt. Currently, the line-up consists of Christian Rider on Drums, Robert Keene on Keys/Bass/Backing Vocals, and Singer-Songwriter and Guitarist Dain Norman.
Dain has been performing in bands since Junior High School, getting his start in FL, playing in punk bands in the early-mid 2000's, first performing in bars at age 15. After attending college, Dain started playing open mics & jams at least 4+ nights a week, which led to a vagabond journey around the SE, finding any kind of job wherever he could, living in his car, playing music, starting bands, and performing. During this time, Dain really honed his improv guitar performance skills and was exposed to many different types of music, playing in many different music genres of bands, eventually leading to a cross country diy solo tour out to Portland. Since then, Dain formed the Chrysalis Effect project and has self-produced 4 EP's and 2 albums. "HelloJude Productions" EP 2016, "Lantern" album 2019, "Back Down To Earth" EP 2021, "Shades Of Blue" double album 2024, "Soldier Of Love" Beatles cover EP 2025, "Christmas Morning" EP 2025. A handful of tracks on the latest double album, "Shades Of Blue," were co-produced by Jonathan Plum, owner of London Bridge studio. Plum helped produce Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Blind Melon, and many other legendary bands and artists in the same studio. A number of tracks from "Shades Of Blue" also received FM radio airplay on stations around the PNW, on the East Coast, and in Europe. The title track "Shades of Blue," written during the quarantine in 2020, is a reflection of the psychology of people at large internally in reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic, with themes of 1960s peace and love in a single breath. Currently, the band is working on a new 1960s-70s surf rock n' roll-influenced album titled "Sunbeam".
