Historian, author, and professor Ira Wesley Kitmacher digs deep into the region's many fascinating legends.

 
Ira Wesley Kitmacher is a published author of 12 books on American, European, and Pacific Northwest history and folklore. Titles include 𝑃𝑎𝑐𝑖𝑓𝑖𝑐 𝑁𝑜𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑤𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝐿𝑒𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑒, 𝐻𝑎𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑃𝑢𝑔𝑒𝑡 𝑆𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑, 𝐻𝑎𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝐺𝑟𝑎𝑣𝑒𝑦𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑃𝑎𝑐𝑖𝑓𝑖𝑐, and others. He has taught graduate courses at Georgetown University and other colleges, is a county history commissioner for Thurston County and leads tours based on his books in collaboration with Pretty Gritty Tours of Tacoma.
