About McMenamins History Salon
Dress up in your favorite historical fashions from any era and join us for History Salon! During the 18th and 19th centuries, these intimate and exclusive social gatherings were a place where music, literature, philosophy, food, and fashion collided for an evening of refinement and reflection.
Gather over delicious food and drinks while you enjoy live classical music, a short literary reading from history, and socialize as you discuss the philosophical questions of the night. Step back in time to when conversation and community were the ultimate entertainment.
About the musicians:
Jacob Breedlove (hurdy-gurdy, medieval fiddle, virginal, regal) has a background as a multi-instrumentalist, puppeteer, and harpsichord builder, and has performed for over thirty years.
Aage Nielsen (bass clarinet, douçaine) performed for over twenty years with the Boise Philharmonic and performs with several Portland-based chamber groups.
This is a historical costume event. Costumes are admired but not required.
Remember: vintage style, not vintage values!
