About Roy Gardner’s Great Escapes

Roy Gardner’s Great Escapes

Train robber Roy Gardner was one of the most captivating figures of the 1920s, grabbing headlines up and down the West Coast. Join us to hear about his daring prison escapes, the news accounts that fueled his legend, and the riveting manhunts that led to his capture - including a sensational stop at the Olympic Club.

Casey McNerthney is the co-author of four books and a writer at HistoryLink, the online encyclopedia of Washington history. He helped save archives of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, where he was a newspaper reporter, and KIRO-TV, where he won three Emmys.
