About Heather Ward
Heather is Canadian but has been based in Seattle since 1997. She grew up as a musical kid in a very musical family. She initially attended art school, but performing at gallery openings led her back to music studies at Vancouver Community College and then Capilano University for a degree in Jazz Performance. She has twice performed in Vancouver's International Jazz Festival. Heather teaches private voice lessons as a member of NATS and performs in jazz venues, cabarets and theater in Seattle. Last year she released her first solo album, ‘Honeysweet', and this spring she released a second album, ‘Gilded & Silver'. Heather is a huge lover of the great standards but is also fascinated with translating music from varied genres into jazz, which is evident on her albums and in performance.
