Fern Spores is a folk-rock band hailing from Olympia, WA. With a sound that's as raw and captivating as it is intentional, they weave gritty guitar leads, haunting fiddle melodies, and powerhouse vocals that leave audiences spellbound. Drawing inspiration from musical giants like Janis Joplin, Alabama Shakes, First Aid Kit, and Cat Power, Fern Spores infuse their music with a modern edge while paying homage to the raw energy and authenticity of their predecessors. Their songs are both anthems of empowerment and poignant reflections on life's highs and lows. In Summer 2024 they released their highly anticipated debut album, recorded at world renowned studio Women's Audio Mission in San Fransisco, CA.
Eel Sallad can be best categorized as Pacific Northwest Americana Rock - with influences ranging from rock to reggae, from classical to grunge. They can sound like a folksy rock band when acoustic, or a fun grunge band when the drum kit and electric instruments come out.
Led by powerful vocals from the dynamic Dallas Lee (Eel Sallad backwards), their contemplative songwriting and passionate instrumentals creates a soulful high energy sound that you can't help but move to.
Seattle based folk n' roll band, Forest Ray, has been described as "spaced-out, down to earth, Brit-pop gone country" that sounds like "the band covering Beatles songs no one knew existed". Their songs regularly explore diverse instrumentation, which have become staples of the group's brand of rock n' roll. Through a consistent touring and recording schedule, they have become one of Seattle's most known active bands. Their sixth studio album, Windfucker (Jebivjetar), was released in January 2024. They have since followed up with a US and Canada tour and a second tour of Europe promoting the LP and are now ending with a final 2024 tour for the record in the United States.
"The new album from the Seattle outfit is a solid blend of Americana, psych and indie-rock. Peter Sumic's classic storytelling style is driven by a rich sonic tapestry of guitar, mandolin, banjo, pedal steel, harmonica and percussion, making Windfucker (jebivjetar) feel like a perfect companion for a long, dusty road trip." - KEXP Program Director, Chris Sanley
