Vaya Futuro

Vaya Futuro

A lot has been said about the music culture in T ijuana, of mythical personalities and their sto - ries, but little can be understood unless it's through the ey es of the city's musicians and their creations. W ith it's short distance to the border and immediate access to the music culture, it has naturally created in its artists the habit of search. Fav ored by current technology , surges a direct exchange of influences, sounds, genres and life stories that accelerates and grow s these processes. This helps us to understand, in part, how something can be play ed on a daily basis, for example, Tago Mago by Can, by a 20 year old in his car, but it does not explain how everything surges from inside him, and other musicians, the most honest need for expression.

If from sustained boredom surges the purest of creativity, from the hollow silence surges the most purest of sounds. And this is where modernity clashes with all the cliches in order to destroy them and make room for the generation of new sounds that dare to break from the norm and shine by their own light. This is where Vaya Futuro's sound is generated.

Vaya Futuro is composed of Luis Aguilar (vocals, guitar) , Andrea Martinez (guitar, synthesizers), LE Ros (bass), Armando Aguilar (keyboard, vocals), and Miguel Ahuage (drums). In 2011, their pow erful performances outside of the norm took them to the most important festival of  alternative music in the city of Tijuana, 'All My Friends', only to immediately after, be chosen by the California based agency, Goldenvoice, to play in Pomona, Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Tijuana . " Ideas a Medias", their first Lp, was released in February 2014. This independant production that was worked on 100% at the hands of the band, w as very well received by media such as Remezcla (NY), Lifeboxset (MX), Nylon Español (LA), and others. This led them to festivals such as Viva LA! (California), Festival Antes (MX), and was nominated for an IMAS award in 2014.

With their second production they changed their residency to Mexico City and released the grand material titled "Perro V erde y Triste" (2015). In that y ear, full of tours, liv e presentations, and sessions, they perform at Festiv al Marvin (MX), Festiv al Neutral (MX), Festiv al Quemasucabeza (Chile), and Corona Capital (MX), a show in Costa Rica with Ev an Dando (Lemonheads) and lastly their opening for Los Planetas
