A Conversation Series Filling the Spaces Between Races with Compassion & Education
Join a free, all-ages program tonight via Zoom or Facebook to hear Black community leaders address the current state of affairs in Portland and in America, provide educational resources and talk through "The Hangman," a poem written by Maurice Ogden in 1951 and published in 1954. Watch and listen on Facebook (no account needed) or actively take part in a facilitated discussion on Zoom.
Race Talks is a free monthly series founded in 2009 and co-sponsored by Donna Maxey (Founder/Director) and McMenamins History that deals with race in Oregon, both historically and up to the present time, to provide learning experiences that support the development of racial identity and sensitivity. Prior to COVID-19, McMenamins Kennedy School hosted Race Talks every month to discuss a topic of ethnic and racial elements, led by educators and/or experts.
Watch live on @McMenamins History or register in advance to participate on Zoom.
