About Bridgetown Riot

Bridgetown Riot

Avery Anderson: Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin, Vocals

Avery Anderson commenced his musical journey at the age of six, when his parents introduced him to the Suzuki method of violin instruction.  He relocated from Portland to Nashville, where he spent thirteen years performing with some of the finest artists within the vibrant music scene of Music City.  Inspired by the exceptional songwriters he encountered during Nashville's recording sessions, he discovered a profound passion for writing his own music.  In 2017, Avery returned to Portland, where he reestablished connections with fellow musicians who were enthusiastic about collaboration.  Together, they create catchy, danceable melodies.

Tim Loughlin: Bass, Vocals

Tim Loughlin's musical career began with the acclaimed Southern California band, The Dangers, where he made a significant impact on the local music scene.  Tim frequently collaborates with Johnny Hickman of Cracker, showcasing a high degree of versatility in his musical endeavors.  He moved to Portland around 2016, where he encountered Avery Anderson.  Their partnership quickly evolved into a productive collaboration focused on songwriting.  Subsequently, they incorporated Josh and Randy into their project, culminating in the formation of the American alt-country band Bridgetown Riot.

Joshua: Lead Guitar

Joshua began his musical career in his home city of New York City, where he performed to sold-out crowds at historic venues such as The Bottom Line and CBGB.  He has experience as a session musician and live performer, having collaborated with notable artists, including Rick Danko of The Band.  Joshua's diverse musical influences are evident in his playing style, which encompasses elements ranging from the rockabilly and roots music of Sun Studio to minimalist garage and blues, as well as jazz from the 1950s and 1960s.  His guitar playing is characterized by a unique fusion described as "Django Reinhardt meets Keith Richards." Joshua now resides in Portland.

Randy Sanders: Drums

Randy began his musical journey as a drummer at the age of thirteen, growing up on the South Side of Chicago.  Following his family's relocation to Phoenix, Arizona, he quickly established himself in the local music scene, performing with Glen Buxton's Virgin, a band fronted by a guitarist and co-songwriter for the Alice Cooper Band.  During his twenties, he played with the post-punk band Open Market and later with The Ten O'Clock Scholars, making a notable appearance on the Portland segment of the USA Network's Nite Zoo alongside the late songwriter Doug Hopkins of the Gin Blossoms.  By 1986, Randy was performing full-time with the country rock band Chinook.  In 2022, after being introduced to Avery's original Nashville demos, he joined Bridgetown Riot.
