Frankie and the Lost Souls
Originating from Canada and
now based on Northern California's Mendocino Coast, Frankie and the Lost Souls
is an indie folk-rock band founded by wife and husband duo Erica and Sebastian
in 2009. It began as a basement suite hobby that grew organically from their
mutual lifelong loves of music and live performance. The band has evolved from
performing classic Canadiana campfire covers at open mics and busking on street
corners to becoming an existentially creative tour-de-force bringing Erica's
acoustic originals to life and establishing itself as a fixture on the thriving
NorCal music scene. They released their debut EP, Bloodlines, in August 2024.
Recorded at Vancouver's iconic Monarch Studios with Juno-nominated producer Tom
Dobrzanski, the EP features three original songs with Canadian bandmates Wei
"Lynkse" Lin on lead guitar, Nathalie Mila on keys and harmonies, and
Leon Power (City and Colour) on percussion. In March 2025, the Lost Souls
returned to Monarch Studios to again work with Tom and Leon to record seven
more original tunes. These songs, along with remastered versions of the EP
features, have culminated in the band's first full-length album, Human
Condition, which was released on March 10, 2026. The band finds sonic and
lyrical inspiration in a blend of early 2000s indie pop-rock and classic
Canadiana/Americana folk, with influences ranging from City and Colour to Blue
Rodeo, Stevie Nicks to Rilo Kiley to Margo Price.
