The Billy Novas describe their sound as Hillbilly Bossa Nova blending influences from the great musical traditions filtered through their original style. The Billy Novas feature singer/songwriters Kevin Neil and Marianne Flemming . Both have made their mark as artists with extensive national touring experience. Kevin contributed production and guitar work to Marianne's 5th album "Across the Hemisphere." That project charted at #32 over the summer on the folk charts and reached #23 on college and AAA formats over that same time period. In Feb. 2023, Marianne's song Ruby Red Slippers made the finalists for the IAMA (international acoustic music awards) AAA/Alternative category. They released a single "Tumbleweed" in August 2025.
