The Parson Red Heads
'60s pop meets indie/folk
Twenty years into their career, The Parson Red
Heads' free and easy caravan keeps rolling along. The
Portland-by-way-of-Los-Angeles folk-rock band continue to evolve and grow with
each new song and each new album, without forsaking their trademark vocal
harmonies, psychedelic electric guitar interplay, and introspective-yet-hopeful
lyrics. Their last record, "Lifetime of Comedy", was released in the fall of
2020, for better or for worse. Usually a band that would tour behind a record
(The Parsons have toured with bands such as Blitzen Trapper, Cotton Jones, Dawes,
Fruit Bats, Alela Diane, The Mother Hips, and more), they were unable to
properly tour behind that album, due to the timing of the release. So the years
since have found them ever so slowly writing and recording new material, with
the promise of a few singles in the fall of 2025, and a new full length release
in early 2026.
