About Silver Snails
The Silver Snails are an independent pop rock music project
based in the medieval wine country of Romagna, Italy, with strong ties to the
West Coast (USA). Anchored by the husband-and-wife duo of Lucas Ward and Elisa
Fantini, their mission is to open human hearts through song. Describing
themselves as a glam rock space pop family band, The Silver Snails draw from a
diverse palette of musical influences including classic rock, pop, folk,
electronica, Irish, jazz, Nigerian, Qawwali, Asian folk music, and more. The
couple's 3 children, Jasmine, Celeste and Elias participate actively in live
performances, videos, and in the recording studio, having grown up 'in the
band'. The project is supported by a large community of family, friends, fans,
artists, musicians and supporters.
The Silver Snails' debut LP 'The 7 Melodies' constitute an
integrated musical spell designed to unlock joy and unleash magic within the
lives of those who listen. Revealed by inspiration, diligently sculpted,
recorded and mixed over a 2-year period and released in 2012, The 7 Melodies
incorporate English, Italian, and French, with touches of Mandarin and
Sanskrit. Fresh and melodic, the songs are stylistically adventurous yet firmly
rooted in post-Beatles pop rock.
More than 10 years in the making, The Silver Snails
sophomore album, 'Speed of Light', seeks to embody the band's slogan, 'The
world's finest pop rock for a global audience'. Recorded painstakingly over a
decade in Italy and Portland Oregon and co-produced by Dylan Magierek (Badman
Records), Speed of Light is a string of 10 pearls lovingly crafted to uplift,
inspire, and open the hearts of listeners. More stylistically focused than 'The
7 Melodies', 'Speed of Light' should delight lovers of classic rock such as The
Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Pink Floyd along with aficionados of gourmet
contemporary indie pop such as The Shins, Band of Horses, The Flaming Lips, and
Bon Iver. In addition to 9 originals by The Silver Snails, the album also
includes an incredible cover of 'Video Killed the Radio Star', complete with
original music video by The Silver Snails. Mixing and Mastering credits include
grammy award winners Peter Katis (Tarquin Studios) and Greg Calbi (Sterling
Sound), as well as Portland's Adam Selzer.
The Silver Snails have toured as a 5-piece rock band in the
Pacific Northwest, New York, and Central Italy.
