About Letters From Traffic
Letters From Traffic is a nine-piece rock & soul phenomenon featuring soul-sweetened vocals, fresh horns, hot guitars, kickass grooves, and richly authentic lyrics. Original songs layer trumpet and saxophone, vocal-harmony, lead & rhythm guitars, bass and drums. Contagiously moveable, inspiringly anthemic, or just dirty and fun, Letters From Traffic is always quality, always true.
Slowly steeping in the Seattle scene since 2006, Letters From Traffic has evolved a spirited sound-dubbed "New Vintage Soul" by their fans-supporting a deep commitment to authentic storytelling, connection and kick-ass performance. The band has performed at festivals like the Bite of Seattle, Seattle Hempfest, and Tacoma's Art on the Ave, as well as historic venues like the Showbox at the Market and Showbox Sodo, Triple Door, Chop Suey, Crocodile Café, Sunset Tavern, Historic Everett Theatre, and Jazzbones in Tacoma. They were featured in the second episode of the Victory Studios produced show Band in Seattle, and in multiple interviews on Seattle Wave Radio, Northwest Prime, and the inaugural webcast of Time 4 Hemp on iHeartRadio.
Fans of Letters From Traffic hear the influence of artists like Van Morrison, Al Green, Chicago, Sting, Blood Sweat & Tears, Counting Crows, Kings of Leon, Soul Coughing, and Frank Zappa to name just a few.
Letters From Traffic is currently hard at work in the studio recording their first new album in a decade, Fierce Waters, a concept album featuring contemporary rock & soul songs exploring the 3,000 year old epic story of the Odyssey by Homer.
