About The Beauty of Speed: 100 Years of Hydroplane Racing

The Beauty of Speed: 100 Years of Hydroplane Racing

The speed and beauty of hydroplane racing on the waters of the Pacific Northwest has been a steadfast tradition for more than a century. From the Sammamish Slough to Seafair on Lake Washington, learn how hydroplaning continues each summer as an important mainstay in Seattle and the local area.

Presenter Jill Glass is a third-generation boat racer and has been involved in the Vintage & Historic Division of the American Power Boat Association since 2011. Jill has filled a variety of roles: racer, crew, judge on the water, pit boss, race announcer, and volunteer at the Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum. She has been involved in nearly every aspect of racing. Jill drives a vintage hydroplane named Tiger Too at events each summer.

It's like being back in the classroom - except this time you get to settle into comfortable seats and enjoy a drink or two with dinner while you listen and learn.
