In celebration of the upcoming Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation & Technology, August 6th-10th at OMSI, this Science Pub will explore the ins & outs of stop motion animation with Nova Toymation, who will take you behind the scenes of some of his creations! You'll learn how he created them as well as insights on rigging, shot planning, diorama building, editing, and everything in between.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Nova Toymation is an independent stop motion animator who shares his works on social media platforms. His passion for filmmaking runs through every aspect of the process, from set building, 3D model sculpting, 3D printing, painting, weathering, crafting, editing, and sound design. He has worked on several collaborative projects, including many featured on the DC Comics social media channels. His article, "Crafting Stop Motion Magic," can be found in the "Toy Photographer" magazine on Amazon.
