6pm doors, 7pm program
All ages welcome
Fashion has drastically changed since the 19th century - the era of corsets and bustles, top hats and spats. And the way we shop for clothes has equally evolved. How did we get here? From manufacturing textiles and sewing, to department stores, malls, and online retail, learn all about Tacoma's history of fashion and the original shops that set the trends. Join Tacoma Historical Society Curator Elizabeth Korsmo as she showcases residents and their style throughout the decades and delves further into her research on clothing the City of Destiny.
Elizabeth Korsmo is the curator of the Tacoma Historical Society Museum. She has master's degrees in history and museum studies, and her particular area of interest is 19th century clothing and material culture.
Stay the night, mention History Pub at check-in for 15% off your room.
These events are open to
everyone interested in Pacific Northwest

bring you experts, scholars, first-person experiencers, historians and documentaries expounding on topics from indigenous history to the birth of Portland, early explorers
to hop growing, and on and on! It's like being
back in the classroom - except this time you get to settle into comfortable
seats and enjoy a drink or two with dinner while you listen and learn.
