About Grit City's Cocktail Soiree

Grit City's Cocktail Soiree

This is NOD's biggest fundraiser of the year, our fundraisers allow scholarship availability as well as keeps our tuition cost low so families from all financial backgrounds can provide their children with early education.

Our auction is packed full of amazing items for all interests. Our raffle is going to be huge. Enjoy food for purchase from The Spanish Ballroom's dinner menu and our specialty cocktail menu sponsored by some of Grit City's best watering holes! Come for the fundraiser, or come for the live music and cabaret, either way make sure you're here for a great night out in Grit City!

About Kristen Marlo and Kurt Lindsay

Kristen Marlo and Kurt Lindsay

Kurt Lindsay:
Based out of Tacoma, Washington, Kurt Lindsay has been playing all venues imaginable in the great northwest. Equipped with just an electric guitar and his voice, he captivates audiences with rich lyrics and heartfelt melodies. His influences are widespread; ranging from Damien Rice to Van Morrison, from Jeff Buckley to Ottis Redding.

After his band, BODYBOX, stopped playing in 2013, Kurt knew that it was time to take his solo career to the next level. He began booking shows all over the place, often driving over four hours in a single day.
Kurt continues to grow his fan base, and rumor has it that some projects may be set for the not too distant future. In the meantime, check out his album which is for sale on this website and watch some of his videos to get a better idea of what his music is all about. Most importantly, make sure to catch him in his element at a live show.

Kristen Marlo:
Singer/songwriter Kristen Marlo began singing before she could talk, and hasn't stopped since.
She is a classically trained vocalist and self-taught guitarist, but also an accomplished composer and lyricist. She is a United States Air Force veteran. Inspiration for her prolific songwriting comes from passion for new experiences; her work covers the full range of human emotion, from love and lust to rage and revenge.

Over last decade she has been touring the US extensively in support of two independently released EPs, a live LP and a full band in studio LP. Her broad appeal is reflected in the eclectic list of internationally known American artists she's opened for, including Sara Bareilles, Joshua Radin, Matt Hires, Eric Hutchinson, Allen Stone, April Smith, Fanfarlo, The Bravery, OAR, Gary Jules, folk singer Todd Snider, country artist Eric Church and others. Likewise, her music is featured on a score of compilations and her backing vocals can be found on dozens of other artists' releases.
