About Amelia Day & The Cloves
Amelia Day is a queer folk
powerhouse entering the conversation with mainstays like Brandi Carlile,
the Indigo Girls, and Tracy Chapman. Underscoring her carefree
melodies with gritty, confessional lyricism and raw, heartfelt delivery, she
performs with an intimacy that makes even new listeners feel familiar. Amelia
mixes elements of her adolescent South Sound mixtapes of folk, rock, and jazz,
creating music that plays freely with genre, but is still undeniably "Amelia
Day." Without a label, Amelia has independently sold-out venues like
Seattle's iconic The Triple Door, been played on popular stations like KEXP
and 107.7 The End, opened for pop crooner Stephen Sanchez, and
amassed over 1M streams and 75K monthly listeners on Spotify. Amelia just
released her sophomore EP "Little One" in early November, which has
already been met with rave reviews from publications like The UW Daily
and Outwrite.
This past year, Amelia Day
has joined forces with Seattle mainstay "The Cloves" as folk rock
collaboration, "Amelia Day & The Cloves." The group's unique
sound, which features Wurlitzer, cello, and lush 3-part harmonies sold out The
Triple Door and earned them Saturday slots at festivals like Bite of Seattle
and Brew53 this summer! The Cloves are no strangers to the PNW
scene; in the band's 20+ year existence, they have played live sessions on
stations like KEXP, festivals like Folk Life and Chinook Fest,
and classic venues like The Showbox, The Crocodile, The Triple
Door, and Tractor Tavern. Amelia Day and The Cloves share their
origins in the small town of Sumner, WA and are excited to continue bringing
their down-home folk rock sound to big stages in 2024!
