The Good Vibes Quartet is a reunion of college music friends (Dan, Steve & Trent) with the fortunate addition of Nonda Trimis. The group's focus has been creating and performing original compositions. The Good Vibes Quartet's music is both an echo and celebration of the jazz sounds from the 1960's and ‘70s.
This is a lively NW jazz & blues combo with Dan on Vibraphone, Steve Yamasaki on Sax, Trent Leurquin on Bass & Nonda Trims on Drums. Dan's four mallet vibe technique and the group's unique instrumentation, reminiscent of the iconic Steve Getz, Gary Burton Quartet gives their interpretation of jazz classics and their original compositions a fresh and melodic flavor. From bebop and swing to Latin and blues their music is creative and balanced with talented improvisation.
The quartet performs regularly at venues and festivals around the Puget Sound.
Their first CD release of all original compositions Badlands Express has been featured on KNKX's Jazz Caliente program.
