About Mudslide Charley
Mudslide Charley is a Missoula, Montana-born band that delivers house-rockin' roots rhythm and blues. From Mudslide Charley's first sparks in 2004, the band has evolved over the years into today's six piece powerhouse. The band draws inspiration from an earlier era, when Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker fused the rough and rural vibes of southern acoustic blues with modern electric instruments. Mudslide Charley weaves their blues foundation with Stax-era R&B, Western Swing, and roots Rock & Roll to perform original songs that bristle with vibrancy and emotional fervor.
Mudslide Charley, is currently promoting their fifth album, "Clearwater Junc-tion." Written, composed and recorded in the throes of the pandemic, "Clearwater Junction," consists of eleven original songs that dive into the dissonance of contempo-rary American life through the lens of hope, love and human resolve. Previous albums, "New & Used," and "Words & Bones," both cracked the Living Blues Top 30 Albums Charts. Clearwater Junction has so far hit the Living Blues top 30 charts and the Roots Music Report charts for both blues and classic blues.
The band has opened for Marcia Ball, Charles Neville, George Thorogood, Anna Popovich, Nick Schnebelen, Hoyt Axton, The Common Heart and Hillstomp, and has performed at the Magic City Blues Festival, Salmon Blues & Brews Festival, Wallace Blues Festival, Hot Springs Blues Festival, Philipsburg Blues & Brews Festival and the Flathead Blues Festival.
