Ninjas With Syringes

Ninjas With Syringes

Ninjas With Syringes are a 4 piece Portland, OR punk rock band founded by vocalist singy-songy guy Matt Danger. With Brian Dene backing him up (from Secnd Best) on drums and Blaine Gorze on dueling six strings, they somehow managed to entice Dylan Samore into the luscious harmonies that our unified vocals to complete the chord of savages that is the latest, strongest Ninjas With Syringes possible. Ninjas play fast and languid anthems of glory, regret, misery, and resolve to bring it to a boil and sever hot their ever evolving churn and emotional cascade that composes their relaxing variety of shadowy skatepunk.

Ninjas have released 9 albums and EPs, marking the group's informal incarnation in 2008 with the release of their "Premature" full length and are fumingly producing more music than ever fathomed to add to their collection of proliferate melodic ooze. Ninjas With Syringes have dedicated themselves to creating the atmospheric juice needed to produce fun raw explosive live shows, passionately embraced in the sonic jumping abilities of their astral nature. Returning to live music on live @ Dante's on August, 20, 2021 after the virus shutdown ended and vaccines were in place has resulted in Ninjas returning to push some singles from their latest full length "Punkanomics" while mixing in old and personal favorites into their live set like "Teeth" and "Face Full of Lead" from their 2012 "Railroader" EP.

The ecstatic quartet have since nudged their way into the flinching Portland music scene and abroad touring to entertain dozens to hundreds with their upbeat attitudes across many longitudes. Loaded to burst merry melodies across the land, the boys can be seen on the road and in the pacific northwest throwing down bawdy hooks and moving around so much on stage that it gives dogs indigestion. Ninjas promise only one thing: music and sweet sweat. So- basically, two things! But they like to give a whole lot more. P.S. Please give them candy.

Ninjas With Syringes have shared stages with bands like: The Flatliners, Menzingers, Dead To Me, Foxy Shazam, Banner Pilot, Off With Their Heads, Riverboat Gamblers, The Murderburgers, Broadway Calls, & many more humble yet attention seeking name drops!

The Chicharones

The Chicharones

The Chicharones (Sleep & Josh Martinez), were formed at the South by Southwest Festival, when Sleep and Josh Martinez were just two ambitious guys trying to make it big. On the verge of their own solo careers, the two artists combined forces, and in the following decade, toured the world, sold over a 100,000 albums, and solidified their place as one of the best live shows in underground hip hop. They've licensed songs to NBA, MTV, ESPN, The Movies and multiple TV shows. Over time, the Chicharones have also become adults. After three years in the studio, they have created a living ode to the trials and tribulations of their 20s and the party that just won't die.

The Chicharones have toured the world, solo and with live bands, and perfected their sound, with over a decade spent in airplanes and in crowded tour vans, fighting to make something of themselves for the people they left behind. From Sleep's magic tricks and quick change routines, to Martinez's beer balancing and hi-kicking Elvis dance moves, The Chicharones have become legends for their unique sound and one-of-a-kind live show. Spin called The Chicharones "The Best Bar Band in America". Using humor and harmony, they've created something entirely new, pushing the boundaries of what hip hop sounds like. Expect 5-part harmonies, speed raps, a razor tight band, costume changes, syncopated dance moves, stage magic, standup comedy and the joyful interplay of veteran performers Sleep and Josh Martinez as they constantly raise the bar on what live performance can be.

The Brass

The Brass

The Brass was originally set in motion in the summer of 2012 by guitarists Ryan Brodie and Nick Wilson. Based in Portland Oregon, the five-piece was formed with musicians from up and down the west coast. That summer the band began writing its first batch of songs before some of the members had even met. By sending demos back and forth between the group and prospective front-man Matt Forbes in Washington State; they were able to mold four songs right away that would become the core of their first E.P. release "Armsreach" in the fall of 2014. The E.P. was self-released digitally as well as on 10" vinyl by Snatchee Records in Wenatchee Washington.

Over the years the group went through several member changes while continuing to play small and mid-sized clubs around the Northwest, opening for such acts as: Strung Out, Good Riddance, D.I. Get Dead, A Wilhelm Scream, Direct Hit, Off With Their Heads, Swingin Utters, DFL, Stiff Little Fingers and many more.

The Brass just released their second record "Mob Neutrality". A seven-song summation of their time as a band and the Pre-Covid world it was written in. The album touches on topics from social media to child abuse and from bureacratic corruption to personal struggles with mental health.

The band plans to heavily promote the new record by releasing multiple music videos online to accompany all other online outlets, reviews, features and playlists. They also plan to adapt to the Covid crisis through a combination of livestream showcases, online interviews with punk media outlets and collaborations with other groups and artists.

Raise the Bridges

ska hip-hop hybrid

Raise the Bridges

Drawing from a deep pool of musical inspiration, Raise the Bridges sound like a party teetering dangerously on the edge of being out of control. Of course, this is the carefully constructed vision of this funky Portland-based hip-hop hybrid. A full band backs two separate vocalists, mixing elements of reggae, ska and rock n' roll helping to provide a high energy soundtrack for the for the clever wordplay, intelligent lyrics and sing-a-long choruses. Performing together since summer of 2008, these longtime friends relish in providing party music with a purpose. Check out their live show for a truly enriching and enjoyable experience From Heather, manager and talent booker at The Ash Street Saloon, legendary Portland rock venue "...A sunny blast of hip-hop and rock, Raise the Bridges are a cross over of party rock and ska/reggae with a metallic edge to it. This is one of those bands that you lose your voice screaming along with, suckin' back a few more then you thought you would and when you wake up next to that guy you saw near the bathroom, wondering how you got there... The answer will inevitably be Raise the Bridges, that's how".
