Tight and urgent Portland Indie Rock! Influenced by British Blues Invasion to Modern and Americana rock these songs are lean and strong with stories and characters - from grocery store checkers to male strippers to midnight lovers. Nervous Jenny sound like Tom Petty and Neil Young arguing over who's a bigger fan of the Who.
Spawned from Portland, Oregon's crazy good music scene Nervous Jenny formed quickly after a 4 hour jam session. Tom had the songs and the heart, Mick and Jolie had the backbeat and the soul. They entered the legendary Kung Fu Bakery to lay down the tracks and it all came together under the watchful eye of Dean Baskerville (Sheryl Crow, Everclear, Pink Martini).
"We wanted to sing about these complicated times in uncomplicated ways, knowing we might not change the world, but maybe how you experience it". Mission accomplished.
Their live shows have electrified crowds from the Pacific Northwest to the Island of Hawaii blending urgent guitar hooks, bad ass bass, and lock step rhythm to deliver their smart, sharp songs. Gritty vocals with sweet harmonies tie it all together for a killer cocktail of sound. Acoustic shows allow them to break the songs down and breathe life into the lyrics of their original songs and tasty covers. Back in the studio with Dean they are hard at work on their next CD with more songs about "you or someone you know."
