About Witness of Another World: Film screening and Q&A

Witness of Another World: Film screening and Q&A

Witness of Another World is an intimate documentary that intends to unveil the mystery of a spectacular close encounter case witnessed by a lonely gaucho. Filmmaker Alan Stivelman, moved by the story of Juan Pérez, decides to investigate more about the event that forced him to take refuge in the countryside for fear of contact with the phenomenon.

Dr. Jacques Vallée, a well-known scientist and researcher, participates in this documentary having met Juan more than thirty years ago. This is the only case in the history of ufology in which a witness has been studied several times during a period of 40 years, with his life and the impact of the experience documented fully.

About the Speaker:
Tom Bowden is the Oregon State Director of MUFON (Mutual UFO Network.) He has over 45 years of UFO research and investigative experience. He became interested in UFOs and parapsychology (especially J. B. Rhine's work) as a youth and joined the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (a very active UFO investigation group from the 1950s to the 1980s) as a young adult after college. The intriguing Travis Walton abduction case of 1975 convinced him he wanted to be an investigator. Tom's early work with APRO led him to investigate some early abduction cases. After concentrating on work and family for a number of years and putting UFO investigation on the back burner, Tom has now renewed his interest and is more active than ever. He joined MUFON in 2001 and became Assistant and then State Director for Oregon in 2003.

About Paranormal Pub

Paranormal Pub

According to Wikipedia: "Paranormal events are phenomena described in popular culture, folklore and other non-scientific bodies of knowledge, whose existence within these contexts is described to lie beyond normal experience or scientific explanation.

A paranormal phenomenon is different from hypothetical concepts such as dark matter and dark energy. Unlike paranormal phenomena, these hypothetical concepts are based on empirical observations and experimental data gained through the scientific method.

The most notable paranormal beliefs include those that pertain to ghosts, extraterrestrial life, unidentified flying objects, psychic abilities or extrasensory perception and cryptids."

We thank the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) for coordinating and hosting this programming at Kennedy School Theater.
