About Keeping Portland Weird, One Llama at a Time

Keeping Portland Weird, One Llama at a Time

Connecting creatives and freethinkers, Weird Portland Creatives brings Rojo the Llama and his handler Shannon Joy to Kennedy School. Rojo and Shannon will host a meet-and-greet from 6:30 ‘til 7, then Brian Kidd (you may know him as the Unipiper) will lead a discussion with Shannon about her journey with Rojo, followed by Q&A.

Rojo the Llama is recognized as a local celebrity, visiting schools and hospitals and participating in local parades and events. Since he was born in 2002, he has enjoyed being around people of all ages. His handler Shannon Joy, of Mtn Peaks Therapy Llamas and Alpacas, trained Rojo through 4H, and he later earned his therapy animal certification.

Weird Portland Creatives is a free series of lectures and networking events designed to be a unique gathering point for freethinkers in the Portland area.  Their goal is to help members connect with other like-minded artists and creatives interested in Keeping Portland
