Star Wars: Extraterrestrials, Evolution and Ethics

Presented by Dr. Leonard Finkelman, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Linfield College

The Star Wars Galaxy is well known for weird and wonderful alien lifeforms. How are those aliens related to each other—and to you? Join us to learn about the evolution of Star Wars aliens and what that means for us in our galaxy.

About the Speaker:

Leonard Finkelman is an assistant professor of philosophy at Linfield College and a paleontologist, trained at the University of Oregon. His scholarly interests include philosophy of science and its applications to the study of extinction. His academic publications include the recent article “Crossed Tracks: Mesolimulus, Archaeopteryx, and the Nature of Fossils.” He has also contributed to popular books about dinosaurs, Star Wars and comic books.
