Presented by Maurene Morgan, Washington State Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) State Section
As a lead-up to the 19th Annual McMenamins
UFO Festival (Hotel Oregon, 5/17-19), Maurene Morgan, the Washington
State Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) State Section Director, will speak about how UFO
phenomena may not be as modern as many believe. Strange beings and flying
objects have been depicted throughout the ages in rock art, megalithic statues,
figurines, tapestries, woodcuts, and paintings. Perhaps ancient art can provide
clues to unraveling humanity's mysterious past... and present.
About the Speaker:Maurene Morgan is the Washington Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) State
Director and is on MUFON’s Experiencer Research Team (ERT). She also
facilitates Olympic UFO, a monthly meet up in Port Townsend.
Maurene graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A in
Communication Studies and worked for many years as an editorial assistant on a
university philosophy journal. In addition, she spent more than 20 years
traveling around the world; including a small boat circumnavigation. These
travels have given her a sense of being a citizen of the world. Most of all,
Maurene possesses a passion to better understand a phenomenon that may prove to
be the overarching issue of our time—UFOs are real and ETs are here.
These monthly, free events are open to everyone interested in Oregon and Pacific Northwest history. Co-sponsored by like-minded historical and civic organizations, we bring you experts, scholars, first-person experiencers and historians who expound on topics from Lewis and Clark to shipwrecks, hop growing to women pioneers and far, far beyond. It's like being back in the classroom - except this time you get to settle into comfortable seats and enjoy a drink or two with dinner while you listen and learn.
