Cedar Teeth hails from the Cascade foothills, where the sound of saws cut through the Oregon woods and the lights of Portland set the western horizon aglow. The music of Cedar Teeth is shaped by the experience of living in this margin dividing the wilderness from the city. From the five members of the band emerges a fusion of guitars, banjo, keys and trombone, propelled by bass and drums, while vocal harmonies weave through the music. Their songs are thus sweeping and immersive, at turns rustically melodic, lyrically raw, and aggressive, as they explore the tensions of our time: love, loss, and destruction in a morally ambivalent landscape.
Over the past five years, Cedar Teeth has steadily crafted a distinct sound and set out to bring together audiences and fellow musicians from Portland to Seattle. Starting off 2015 with a series of shows in Park City, Utah during Sundance Film Festival, Cedar Teeth has gone on to perform at major venues throughout the Pacific Northwest, like Seattle's Tractor Tavern, as well as festival sets at Cascadia Rainingman and Summer Meltdown, alongside bands like Greensky Bluegrass and Fruition. Songs from their debut album, Hoot, have since been licensed for television programming on PBS and film soundtracks in America and Europe. Heading into 2016, Cedar Teeth will soon return to the studio and record their sophomore album before hitting the road, to bring their brand of NW roots rock to audiences far beyond the Cascade foothills from where their music is born.
When Glen's son Brian was diagnosed with ALS, Glen wanted Brian to see him play music with Brian's sons Branden and Brad. They started hosting a weekly BBQ and Jams dinner night which continued to grow as more family and friends attended and joined the jam. With many thanks to Brian and his love of music, the Syco Billy's String Band was formed in 2015 with the original members; Glen Damewood (Banjo, Dojo) Kenny Peters (Guitar) Don Baker (Mandolin) and Beningo Chavez (Bass) Shortly after Luc Dauvin joined adding the fun touch of the fiddle. The Syco Billy's have been playing at local festivals, pubs, and private parties ever since. In 2016 Benny decided to take other opportunities and Bruce Carnine took his place on the Bass.
The Talbott Brothers are an Americana duo from Nebraska, currently based in Portland, Oregon. They form an alternative sound that balances sibling-blood-harmonies with their instrumental ensemble of guitars, mandolin, harmonicas and percussion. Their entertaining effect on stage is embraced by multiple generations, as they are known for charming and energetic performances that blend singer-songwriter styles with folk, rock, pop and blues.

Born in Detroit, Darka dedicated the early part of her musical life to Ukrainian music as part of the NYC-based duo, "Darka & Slavko" who produced five critically-acclaimed records and traveled to Europe several times, winning "Best International Band" at the first non-Soviet Ukrainian Pop Music Festival. Darka currently sings, teaches, plays piano and accordion as a soloist and with several Portland bands, including her own bands "Darka Dusty and the Borscht Beatniks" and "Mammoth in Space." In addition to creating music, Darka is also a published writer and coowner of Mirifoto.com, a full-service photography company in Portland, OR.
As young musicians passionate about opera and about their hometown, Emily Nelson and Bethany Schweitzer Goshorn thought, "What better place for an Opera on Tap chapter than our fair city known for its beer, wine and cocktail culture?" Thus Opera on Tap PDX was born - one of 16 nationwide chapters of Opera on Tap. Northwest native Sadie Gregg joined the Managing Diva team in 2016, after singing with the Boston chapter.
Why are we so passionate about opera? Opera speaks to the human condition. It expresses human emotion and relationship in a very unique and profound way. The human voice in all its glory has a visceral effect on us. In a culture focused on instant gratification with short attention spans, opera demands your full attention and rewards you with a wild ride on the emotional roller coaster.
Chances are that people who say they don't like opera have never heard it live! Opera on Tap seeks to change this by bringing the genre back to the people in familiar places: community gathering spaces, restaurants, and bars - much how music was historically enjoyed in Germany pubs. We seek to share, educate and bring simply fabulous music to an audience that might not otherwise be able to enjoy the art form. So grab your friends and your favorite pint, and join us for Opera on Tap!Opera On Tap NationwideOpera on Tap (OOT) was born in 2005 at Freddy's Bar and Backroom in Brooklyn and incorporated in 2007 to promote opera as a viable, living, and progressive art form and to support the developing artists who continue to keep the art form alive. What began as a small monthly gathering of ambitious, classically trained singers looking for more performance opportunities has grown into a producing organization that has gained a loyal audience base and national recognition as an innovative force on the classical music scene. Through its Chapter program, which now has sixteen vibrant national chapters, OOT has created a large network of performers, creators, and supporters.
