Basketball Jones

Basketball Jones is what happens when a 3 piece cover band decides to play original compositions and adds bluegrass banjo and funky bass.  They are a little bit country and a little bit don't give a dang. Some folks swear they can hear where each of these players has been just by listening to their licks.

The Mayor's Office

The Mayor's Office

A locked, non-descript briefcase sits on a desk in a cold, dank, basement. Four silhouettes surround it. None of them have been able to get it open. In fact, they are too awe struck to give it much of a try. Then...the combination lock is slowly turned to 0-3-5.

Meanwhile...back at the mayor's office...files are stacking up, copies need to be made and the mayor can't be found. His office is in shambles. The very few employees that still report to work have been starting their days later and later. A staff of nearly 50+ has been reduced to four employees. All of whom, are nowhere to be found. Where are they? Not a bad question, not a bad question at all...They did leave a note behind that reads: (We're out lookin' for the beat near the groove.) Keep an eye out for them, because they've been known to find it. As for the mayor himself, well that's a whole other issue, not soon to resolved.

Jacob - Timekeeper of back beats. Last known whereabouts: the swamp.
Ryan - Specialist in Low End. Last known whereabouts: the river.
Dan - QWERTY Keyboard Manager. Last known whereabouts: the basement
Zack - Speech and Rhyme Consultant. Last known whereabouts: the office

Together they make funk and groove filled hip hop jams. If you see them, please let us know. They are...

Fat Kitten

A rough-folk power trio based out of Portland, Oregon, Fat Kitten sounds, at times, like they don't have a second to spare. Quirky, thoughtful lyrics are delivered in close-fitting three part harmony between swift guitar licks and driving stand-up beats. Frontwoman and songwriter Molly Dechenne, bassist Ryan Lund, and guitarist Daanen Krouth formed Fat Kitten in 2016. With backgrounds ranging from pop and rock to funk and ska, Lund and Krouth give unconventional perspective to Dechenne's antifolk songs about love, paranoia, drugs and small town blues. For fans of Kimya Dawson, Bright Eyes, and John Prine/.

About Lola's Room
