About Meet the Makers

Meet the Makers

The largest of McMenamins' breweries, the Edgefield Brewery opened in 1991 in the old cannery building of the former Multnomah County Poor Farm. There's a lot of history on these grounds that's believed to fuel the flow of creativity. This team produces beer of impressive quality, stunning imagination and in grand volume. Come meet the Brewers and bring your curiosity as they're a communal wealth of knowledge. Enjoy this one time offering because when it's gone, it will be no more.

This event is an Official Limited Edition Beer Tasting! You can obtain an experience stamp, getting you one step closer to a $20 gift card, if you've purchased the Passport Insert that allows for additional experience stamps.

Bittersweet Orange Wheat
From McMenamins West Linn Brewery
This light summertime beer will provide the perfect pint to sip in the sun. Sweet Spanish orange peel is perfectly complemented by Amarillo Hops that provide additional flavor with hints of tropical citrus. The middle of summer is bittersweet, but a pint of this Wheat will keep you in the moment.

Tropic Heat Sour
From McMenamins Edgefield Brewery
Tropic Heat is a kettle soured ale brewed with pink guava puree, coconut and habanero peppers. The heat contribution from the peppers is very minimal and creates a pleasant background quality that lingers. This slight spiciness accentuates the fruity, full guava taste that is this beer's foundation. Coconut was also added to pleasantly blend all of the fine flavors together.
Special Techniques: Kettle Soured
Special Ingredients: Habanero, Coconut
Fruit: Pink Guava
Malts: Superior Pilsen, Pale, Wheat, Acidulated
Hops: Meridian
OG: 1.052  TG: 1.012  ABV: 5.16  IBU: 8  SRM: 4

Magnifique Saison
From McMenamins Edgefield Brewery
Magnifique is a Saison-style Farmhouse Ale brewed with pink and black peppercorns. The peppercorn blend creates fruity and spicy aromatics and flavor that are accentuated by the heady esters produced by the French Saison yeast it was fermented with. This Saison follows its traditional forbears by being light, flavorful, and produced in the heat of summer to be imminently drinkable.
Special Ingredients: Black Peppercorns, Pink Peppercorns
Malts: Pilsen, Unmalted Wheat, Aromatic, Acidulated
Hops: Crystal
OG: 1.050  TG: 1.004  ABV: 5.93  IBU: 22  SRM: 3

Fevered Session ISA
From Thompson Brewery
We've given our summer seasonal, Jam Session ISA, a nice little kick! Jalapeno, Serrano and Anaheim peppers were soaked in Tequila then blended over our easy-drinking ISA. The combination of floral hops with citrus and pine varieties provides a great balance to the soft heat and green flavors of the peppers. This is a unique, heated twist on the Pacific Northwest love of hops.
Special Techniques: Dry-Hopped
Special Ingredients: Jalapeno, Anaheim Pepper, Serrano Pepper
