What 20 Years as a "Close Encounter" Therapist Taught Me

What 20 Years as a "Close Encounter" Therapist Taught Me

Dr. Janet Colli is a psychotherapist who helps people process contact. Janet will share her expertise in healing the traumatic aspects of contact, and the resultant growth of consciousness. Janet will discuss the published results of her research project, "Angels & Aliens: Encounters with Both Near-death and UFOs." What do encounters with both Near-Death and UFOs reveal about human nature and the nature of reality? From the case files of a transpersonal psychotherapist come preliminary conclusions. Trace "Hayley's" development as she overcomes PTSD to become a gifted interspecies communicator. As a result of his interactions with an otherworldly being ("Cosmic Mother"), Janet's partner, Thomas Beck, Ph.D., now helps people heal from a wide range of physical illnesses. Discover the pivotal role so-called aliens are playing in the transformation of human consciousness-from those who are living it, firsthand.

Janet will also share highlights from her highly acclaimed book, Sacred Encounters: Spiritual Awakenings During Close Encounters. A transfixing exploration of the human side of encounters, Sacred Encounters explores unitive states of consciousness in the context of close encounters and reveals startling evidence about the connection between otherworldly beings and Tibetan Buddhist, and Hindu enlightenment traditions. Explore the potential that the current surge of encounters by Westerners is preparing our species for our next evolutionary leap.

About the Speaker:

Janet Elizabeth Colli, Ph.D. is a psychotherapist in the Pacific Northwest specializing in spiritual awakening. With expertise in both Clinical and Transpersonal Psychology, she bridges psychology with the extraordinary, and the mystical. Her specialty for over 20 years has been the close encounter phenomena. Her newly published book, The Dark Face of Heaven: True Stories of Transcendence Through Trauma is a compelling account of spiritual awakenings and psychic openings-revealed during trauma therapy. She presents at the professional conferences of the American Center for the Integration of Spiritually Transformative Experiences (ACISTE). Catalyzed by a spiritually transformative experience during cancer treatment, Janet now provides psycho-spiritual support for a full range of processes. She facilitates Spiritual Emergence Seattle-a consultation service integrating psycho-spiritual, physiological & community support. Janet lives on Whidbey Island and swims with wild dolphins in Hawaii.

Paranormal Pub

Join us once a month to hear from experts in unexplainable phenomena - think UFOs, extraterrestrials, Bigfoot, ESP, ghosts and beyond. Come have a beer and a burger handcrafted beverage, concessions, and/or a slice of pizza, settle in and learn something new from a curated line-up of scholars, experiencers and others.

According to Wikipedia: "Paranormal events are phenomena described in popular culture, folklore and other non-scientific bodies of knowledge, whose existence within these contexts is described to lie beyond normal experience or scientific explanation.

A paranormal phenomenon is different from hypothetical concepts such as dark matter and dark energy. Unlike paranormal phenomena, these hypothetical concepts are based on empirical observations and experimental data gained through the scientific method.

The most notable paranormal beliefs include those that pertain to ghosts, extraterrestrial life, unidentified flying objects, psychic abilities or extrasensory perception and cryptids."

We thank the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) for coordinating and hosting this programming at the historic Mission Theater.

The location that serves as one of McMenamins favorite neighborhood theater pubs was the locus of great spiritual zeal beginning in the 1890s. That's when the Swedish Evangelical Mission established its church here....
