When archaeologists start digging, they can never be certain what they will unearth - they can't even be certain that the artifacts will be "of this planet." Join Presenter Faye Sweeney for true stories from the dig site; an archaeological adventure in Argentina.Years ago, Faye Sweeney was part of an archaeological research team in an area of Argentina often cited as a hotbed of UFO activity when she discovered a skull that seemed alien in origin. In fact, it looks very much like the Starchild Skull, a controversial and much-examined artifact that has inconclusive origins, and which will be a topic at next month's McMenamins UFO Festival.
These monthly, free events are open to everyone interested in Oregon and Pacific Northwest history. Co-sponsored by like-minded historical and civic organizations, we bring you experts, scholars, first-person experiencers and historians who expound on topics from Lewis and Clark to shipwrecks, hop growing to women pioneers and far, far beyond. It's like being back in the classroom - except this time you get to settle into comfortable seats and enjoy a drink or two with dinner while you listen and learn.
