About World's Finest

World's Finest

Creating what could best be described as Neo-Americana, World's Finest has bridged the gap between ska, Americana, dub and bluegrass. Hailing from all over the country, the band is comprised of five members: Chris Couch (acoustic guitar, vocals), Dan Hurley (electric banjo, vocals), Sean McLean (sax, electric guitar, vocals), Evan Malfer (electric + upright bass), and Mike Apodaca (drums). Within their very different musical and geographical backgrounds, they have undoubtedly found inspiration in each others' taste, talents, and sensibilities.

Strong songwriting, beautiful vocal harmonies, engaging band interplay and improvisation are only a handful of the many reasons why the band has garnered critical acclaim, and an ever-growing regional and national fan base.

Much has happened for the boys of World's Finest since the release of their last full length album, 33. The new album, Headwaters, runs like a journal of the last few years touring, maintaining relationships, and the tenuous nature of trying to hold it all together. The fun from previous albums is still there, but the sound has matured and the themes have gotten more serious.

With the help of engineer Justin Phelps (Cake, Galactic, The Mars Volta), World's Finest has finally hit the nail on the head in creating an album that captures their sound and vibe.

World's Finest has shared the stage with Steel Pulse, The Motet, Rusted Root, Pert Near Sandstone, Fruition, The Skatalites, and Anthony B and have been fortunate enough to perform at North West String Summit, Hangtown Halloween Ball, What The Festival?! and Symbiosis Gathering, as well as many local and regional festivals.

About Elektrapod

Elektrapod is the brain child of guitarist Gabe Johnson (Jive Talkin' Robots, Soulwork, El Dante). Formed with the vision of fusing Funk, Soul, Disco and Riff Rock w/ Groove and Jamband sensibilities, the band aimed from the start to create a band that would truly stand out in their home market of Bend, Oregon and would also be strong enough to hold their own with regional and national acts. There is no doubt that they have accomplished just that in a very short time, truly impressing every single audience they've performed in front of thus far. Tapping uber-talented young chanteuse Ze Rox (Jaccuzi) on vocals, Matt Smith (Biddewah Trunk) on drums, Tyler Mason (Tone Red, El Dante, FloorRide) on bass, Jarrod Donatelli (2nd Hand Soldiers, El Dante) on percussion and Evan Read-Mullins on keyboards, they have assembled a truly colorful collection of players, all of whom have tremendous chops and experience, as well as strong creative presence and drive. Elektrapod's repertoire is being built from the original works of Gabe Johnson and Ze Rox and yet the band has also found group-writing very productive and rewarding, drawing on a lot of magic and synergy in a very short time. After high profile appearances at many, many events, festivals and venues throughout the Oregon, Washington, California and Idaho, Elektrapod is quickly becoming known as one of the hottest live bands to have ever emerged from the Central Oregon area. Come see and hear what all the fuss is about!
