The Kareem Kandi World Orchestra will be performing at The Spanish Ballroom in Tacoma on Sunday June 4th. I'll be joined by Greg Feingold on bass, Stefan Schatz on drums, and special guest Alex Guilbert on piano. We'll also be featuring several students from our Weekly Jazz Workshop.

5pm to 8pm, all ages welcome, no cover charge. The first set will also be live-streamed and can be viewed via Facebook or The Kareem Kandi World Orchestra's YouTube Channel. The livestreams are free to watch.

About Alex Guilbert:

Alex Guilbert has been a mainstay as a sideman, leader and soloist in the Seattle jazz and swing scene for over a quarter century. Alex has omnivorous musical tastes, but is also a serious student of both early and modern jazz. He's spent plenty of time energizing lindy hoppers and balboa dancers, but also exploring bebop, modern jazz and beyond. Sit down for an hour with Alex behind the piano and you'll experience a journey, from the stride piano of James P. Johnson and Fats Waller to the modern, maybe even an original or two
