The Top Tankers originated in September of 2018 when a late summer Saturday night jam session turned into "We should record this," and then "Let's try and all fit in the bathroom because the acoustics are better in there." With a couple of us in the shower, one on the toilet seat, and another on top of the tank, The Top Tankers were born. It was organic, raw, and founded on the love we have for making music in community with the people we love.

Micah, Hans, and Robin have been playing music together for nearly 18 years, originally forming their friendship and musical connection in college at Pacific Lutheran University through their cover band, Under the Covers, which still plays today. Robin and Kaitlin grew up together in Vancouver, WA and have been best friends for roughly 25 years. Chloé and Micah have worked together for nearly 10 years as the choir and band teachers, respectively, at Meeker Middle School in Tacoma, WA where they hope to teach students about the beauty of playing and singing in an ensemble and instill a lifelong passion for expressing the music that exists inside each one of them.
