Douglas Allen

Douglas Allen

Douglas Allen hails from Southern Oklahoma, his music straddles lines and in-between places. Finding the exquisite in heartbreak and the human search for connection, this ex-Baptist preacher uses the tension of big feelings, channeling them into the strings of his guitar. His voice is one part whiskey and two parts honey; like a tonic to soothe the raw intensity of his gritty melodies and heartfelt guitar playing. He blurs the lines between folk, blues, and soul, creating a sound at once both fresh and classic Americana. He's humbled by some of the comparisons made between his music and the work of Ben Harper, Amos Lee, and Ray LaMontagne. The son of a farmer turned city boy, he makes his home in Nashville after cutting his teeth in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene. Listening to Douglas Allen's music is like a sucker punch to your heart. Listen at your own risk.

Tara Velarde

Tara Velarde

Tara Velarde, from Portland, commands the stage with her vocally fronted Diva Pop and Soul. Listeners liken her performance to Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, and Carole King - great female powerhouses with a lot to say. Glide Magazine states that Velarde "embodies that elusive combination of swagger and sensitivity. She writes songs with a sharp sense of poetics and vulnerability, and then steps up to the mic to deliver words and vocal melodies with powerhouse pipes". With the release of her album "Rise" (2019), Velarde stays active in the studio and on the road touring the US. She has shared bills with Michael Franti, Gaelynn Lea (NPR Tiny Desk Contest winner), and Haley Heynderickx, and recently made her European debut with a 3-week headlining tour.

Emily Zisman

Emily Zisman

Emily Zisman is an unapologetic storyteller of the contemporary woman's experience. She uses unabashed honesty and humor to punctuate the complexity of the entire escapade. Emily found her way to songwriting as an outlet for her struggles when she was studying to be an actress in New York City. Over time, she realized that songwriting and sharing her personal stories connected her more closely to her community than her attempts to be an actress. The more raw and candid her songs were, the more people seemed to be drawn in. So, she packed up and moved back to California to pursue writing more studiously. Hilarity and devastation continue to ensue, and so in turn does she.
