Golden Coyotes are an indie rock band from Portland, Ore. Though new to the scene, the quartet are no strangers to the stage. Each member has played in various groups over the last two decades and have now come together, bringing their own flavor and drawing influences from mentors such as The Strokes, Minus The Bear, Interpol and Failure, creating a perfect blend of shoegaze, grunge and post-punk. In early 2019, vocalist Robert Bielling wanted to take his solo project DrumKitLoveSong (DKLS) to the next level. By chance he happened to meet bassist Joseph Crafton at a local bar where the latter was working. The two began expanding on DKLS’s sound and recruited Crafton’s former Heavy Stars bandmate John-Paul Ortega to bring in live drums. As things were piecing together the trio realized they were missing a critical layer to the songs so they brought in ex-The Novas lead guitarist Andrew Hard to complete their dynamic sound. Golden Coyotes head into the studio this March to record their first EP at the Country Club with engineer Gino Mari at the helm.
