The Buds of May Revival
This ever-so-Portland band reunites for the apt celebration of their namesake month celebrating MayDay! The Buds of May reunite to celebrate the music and memory of Daniel East, the former lead singer and front man from Georgia. Danny's charisma and sunshine voice made crowds fall in love with the band from their inception in 1996 thru their last show in 2010. Danny tragically passed away in December of 2015 from complications from type 2 diabetes.
"The Buds" play a vast variety of classic hits from Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones and go deep with BBQ flavored improvisational Grateful Dead style jams. The dance floor is always packed with grooving smiles and good vibes.
Buds of May Revival includes original members Scrafford Orser on lead guitar, Bruce Warner on lead Bass, Josh Cole on lead Mandolin and Chaz Holmes on lead drums. The original buds are joined by "Steely" Pete Burak on lead banjo, John Harris on lead washboard, brought together by John Q. Porter on lead rhythm guitar, vocals and merch.
This annual show brings the longtime Portland bands' community of friends together for a night to celebrate the best of times and relive memory's of old. Always a night filled with love, joy and fresh good times.
