G Bots & The Journeymen

G Bots & The Journeymen

GBots and the Journeymen have thrilled audiences in and around Bend, Oregon for over a decade with their improvisational inclinations and workingman-like approach to creating music you want to listen to.

GBots and the Journeymen were forged from an alchemy of elements, part inspiration, part passion, with healthy dashes of good timing, like any song you can't get out of your head. As GBots solo career set sail, intersections with bassist Justin Lebart, drummer Jon Swift, and lead guitarist and vocalist Mark Ransom have led to the electric synergies experienced every time GBots and the Journeymen take the stage.

The GBots and the Journeymen Experience
Experiencing GBots and the Journeymen live is an immersion into a sonic bathtub steeped in rich rock, funk, and soul roots, plus a proper conjuring of the finest jam bands, both past and present. Front man GBots (Greg Botsford), a classically trained vocalist, ties every performance together with his primary instrument - his voice - often mixing rare beat-box skills with silky-smooth, yet robust vocals.

Think Ben Harper's soulful songwriting, Dave Matthews' syncopated rhythms, Queen's masterful arrangements, and Jon Butler's undeniable energy.

Albums
GBots and the Journeymen recorded their debut album Astrolabos in 2017 at TRI Studios in San Rafael, California. The album reflects the band's varied interests and disciplines. Tracks like the haunting "Endure", an epic story of persistence and tragedy, the naked funk of "Cravin", and the feel-good bluegrass of "Gypsy Blue" infuse the album with a live feel by design.

GBots released the solo album Infinite Possibilities in 2021 with help from the Central Oregon Recording studio in Bend, Oregon. The Journeymen and several local musicians sat in as special guests. The title track "Infinite Possibilities", the crowd-pleasing "Live To Love Another Day", and "Wild Man", inspired by GBots' father's poetry, cement this album as an experiment in eclectic collaboration.

Both albums can be streamed on Apple Music, Spotify, and other platforms.

Shows/Venues
GBots and the Journeymen continue to polish their craft on stages throughout the Pacific Northwest as Central Oregon local favorites. They have been featured at regional gatherings like 4 Peaks Music Festival, Bend Roots Revival Festival, Raindance Music Festival, Cascade Equinox Festival, and opened for Bob Weir and the Wolf Brothers during Bigstock 2023 at Hoodoo Ski Resort.

The GBots and the Journeymen experience is an invitation to warm the soul with sound as often as possible.

John Shipe and Friends

Acoustic indie pop & rock

John Shipe and Friends

Eugene indie-pop singer and songsmith John Shipe returns with Yellow House, a new 16-track solo album. A stripped-down affair produced by Ehren Ebbage, the LP features a core of mostly acoustic instruments augmented with keyboards, a rhythm section, horns and players from the artist's past electric line-ups (The Blue Rebekahs, The Scapegoats).

Shipe's body of work has been described as cinematic, aggressively embracing any genre required to enhance the colorfully drawn characters in his songs. The synthesis of seasoned songwriting and sonic intrigue works on both the brain and the heart. A veteran writer and performer, Shipe currently has a repertoire of 200-plus original songs and 15 years of touring, radio airplay and nine recording projects behind him. 27 of his tunes have played on 100 independent and commercial radio stations, all without the support of a major record label. He's also shared the bill with Bob Dylan, Blind Melon, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Cake, Tower of Power, Jerry Joseph, Jimmy Cliff, Derek Trucks, Los Lobos, Tony Furtado and quite a few others.

Shipe is now playing mostly solo shows, which highlight material from Yellow House and add in acoustic versions of older favorites from his previous electric efforts. He is often accompanied by stand-up acoustic bass and a second guitarist/vocalist.

"...remarkable vocalist and songsmith...breaks away from the mold...Without a doubt, he's an interesting figure..." -Performing Songwriter Magazine
