Rob Rainwater
blues/roots rock
Rob Rainwater is a singer/songwriter,
instrumentalist, and radio DJ based in Portland, Oregon. Drawing on a
background steeped in blues, folk, country, and bluegrass, Rob creates a rich
mix of originals and classic blues/rock covers. Though he enjoys creating
music on a variety of instruments, Rob most often performs with guitar and
mandolin.
The Rob Rainwater band entertains audiences with a blues/roots rock style
at pubs, summer park concerts, weddings, private parties, and other venues
throughout the Northwest. As a solo artist, Rob collaborates and plays
shows with many Portland-area artists including Michele Van Kleef, Amber
Sweeney, Redwood Son, John Rankin, and Andrew Paul Woodworth. Rob and Michele
Van Kleef are pursuing a duo project called The Whiskey Darlings.
In 2013, Rob released a solo album titled "About : Time."
In the same year, his songwriting debuted nationally in a film called "Welcome
to Inspiration." In 2014, Rob's music was featured in the Fertile Ground Festival's world
premiere of theater production Remme's
Run. Rob is currently writing and pre-producing an album he
plans to record in October 2015.
Rob is a member of
the Cascade Blues Association.
His music can be heard playing on the radiowaves of Portland Radio Project at 99.1fm and
streaming online at www.prp.fm. On Sunday
afternoons from 1-3pm, Rob hosts a show on PRP called Songs from the Source,
featuring songwriting and songwriters.
